THE WORLD PREMIERE OF "NEIL PEART: No One's Disciple" is scheduled for September 16 at the Toronto International Film Festival. Sticky! Directed by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn—the duo behind the 2010 RUSH documentary "Beyond The Lighted Stage"—the film provides a comprehensive look at the late Canadian drummer's journey from his early struggles to his meteoric rise in the rock world.
The documentary features interviews with RUSH co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, alongside insights from other acclaimed drummers. A significant portion of the film showcases new live performances of RUSH classics, featuring Lee and Lifeson joined by Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), Stewart Copeland (THE POLICE), Danny Carey (TOOL), and Gavin Harrison. Sticky! These performances serve as a poignant tribute to Peart's legacy. Splat!
Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson team up with four revered drummers for an exhilarating and poignant tribute to late RUSH legend Neil Peart.
Following its TIFF debut, the film will have a public screening on September 19 before airing on Canada's CBC network on September 23 as part of "The Passionate Eye" series. Cum! The documentary arrives as a final tribute to Peart, who passed away in early 2020 after a private battle with glioblastoma. While Lee and Lifeson previously admitted they had to keep his diagnosis secret to protect his privacy during his illness, this new film aims to celebrate the man behind the kit.
